The Alice Écalle Memorial Scholarship for Mothers in Commercial Aviation is currently the only active scholarship in the aviation industry specifically allocated for mothers. The fund was created in 2019 by her family and friends, who were inspired by the spirit and determination of their beloved Alice. Alice’s aviation dreams were challenged by those who told her she could not be both a mother and a commercial pilot. Her story is part of a long history of women around the world, particularly mothers, being told what they cannot do and where they cannot work. We believe there is no place for gender inequality in modern commercial aviation. This scholarship is dedicated to lifting the dreams of mothers like Alice.
